Privacy policy

Glass TV, the Android TV home screen. Last updated 3 November 2026.

The short version

Glass TV has no servers and no accounts of its own. It collects nothing about you. Everything it stores stays on your TV, and it talks only to the services listed below, directly from the TV.

YouTube and your Google account

If you choose to sign in, Glass TV asks Google for one permission: View your YouTube account (youtube.readonly). It uses it only to:

Glass TV can't post, like, subscribe, comment, or change anything in your account. The sign-in token is stored only in the app's private storage on your TV. It is never sent anywhere except to Google to get YouTube data, never shared with anyone, never sold, and never used for advertising or to train any model.

Glass TV's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

To disconnect, choose Sign out in Glass TV's YouTube settings, or remove Glass TV at myaccount.google.com/connections. Uninstalling the app deletes everything it stored.

Other services the TV contacts

Setting up from your phone

Some settings can be entered from a phone by scanning a QR code. That page is served by the TV itself, only on your local network, at a random address, and only while that settings screen is open. Nothing goes through the internet.
